Jobs Numbers Out . . . Thankful for Improvement in Hiring

This Thanksgiving day 2011, I’m grateful for the Midwest economy, that seems to be cautiously rebounding. As a business owner, I’m susceptible to the same barrage of Chicken Little Journalism (“The sky is falling! The sky is falling!”) that my clients and job seekers are. While the jobs market is still very challenging for many, in Minnesota and Wisconsin we are doing better than the national average. In fact, the two Western Wisconsin counties where Brigham Group Staffing has the highest concentration of clients and employees still boasts the lowest unemployment rate in the state. Simply said, more folks are working and getting hired in our neighborhood than the rest of the region, and the rest of the country.

So I give thanks for jobs, and employers who are forging ahead providing those jobs and goods and services that keep the economic engine running. I give thanks for employees who work hard on a daily basis to further their career and contribute to the success of their employers. I give thanks for a thoughtful, skilled staff who listen, with compassion, and make great job placements every day. I’m thankful that I’ve been able to spend the last 30 years making a difference in my little corner of heaven here (Love Minnesota and Wisconsin!).

Happy Thanksgiving!
